PearlDoc eScan
|
PearlDoc eScan complements QuickFile Pro with document scanning capabilities. PD/eScan is a client/server application running on the Microsoft Windows platform.
PD/eScan is mid- to high-volume capture software which can be integrated with Imaging software suites of which the standard scanning possibilities are not sufficient for fully automated capturing and indexing; it prepares the acquired images for automatic filing into your imaging system.
PearlDoc created the eScan module for scanning and indexing new documents towards imaging solutions like PearlDoc QuickFile Pro. The Standard Edition (SE) supports the global standard scanning interfaces TWAIN for aquiring images, and supports any TWAIN compatible production-scanner.
The Professional Edition (PRO), which is an extended version of the SE version, also supports ISIS-compatible scanners.
PearlDoc eScan can work closely together with PearlDoc XAct to automatically produce indexes to file into your imaging system on demand (file-on-demand).
Since it was developed on a component based architecture (COM), eScan is easily configurable and extendable. Extensions are offered as a Professional Edition, and its features can include KOFAX support, Form Recognition, Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR), Barcode recognition, OCR, OMR, various image editing tools like deskewing, despeckling, etc.
In the upcoming eScan Release 3 there will be a Web eIndex interface that allow you to indexing all scaned information through the web.
