LincPDF converts files from
HP PCL to Adobe PDF. It was developed to meet the demand
from document management systems developers and users for
a means to convert documents from an industry-standard print
spool output format into a form displayable by Web browsers
and email viewers.
LincPDF supports the conversion
of PCL5e print files and HP-GL/2 vector graphics. The output
files are fully searchable in Acrobat and can be indexed
in Acrobat Catalog. LincPDF is provided as an Active-X COM
object for developers and in a standalone version for end
users. The COM object allows developers to interface easily
to LincPDF from Visual Basic, C/C++, and other compiled
programming or scripting languages that support COM objects.
LincPDF has been tested on
Windows 95, 98, NT4, and 2000. The product includes both
a Windows GUI version and Command-Line version, in addition
to Active-X control. In addition to the included standard
on-board HP Laserjet printer fonts, LincPDF supports most
soft fonts that can be downloaded to the HP printers.
